Wadaag Commons
Wadaag Commons marks the culmination of a multiphase, mixed-income redevelopment initiative called Seward Commons, spearheaded by the Seward community. The term "Wadaag," which means "share" in Somali, was chosen with intention. It reflects the values that the developers, Redesign and Noor Companies, aspire to foster among residents and the broader community. Additionally, it symbolizes a warm welcome to all those who will call Wadaag Commons home.
Thoughtfully Designed Amenities
Community Needs a Priority
Welcome to our intentionally designed playground, created to provide a safe and inclusive environment for children with sensory sensitivities and those on the autism spectrum. This sheltered, fenced-in play area allows children to gather and engage in play while remaining visible to supervising adults.
.
Residents of Wadaag Commons have access to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, aligning with the community's commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.
An enclosed outdoor space can be a wonderful option for families to enjoy the outdoors while ensuring safety and comfort.

You Belong Here
Each unit is designed with culturally specific features, including floor drains in bathrooms for ritual washing and the ability to divide common spaces so that women can uncover. These needs are rarely addressed in housing developments, even when a significant portion of residents have religious concerns that could be accommodated in the design.
